Process Engineer (Bearings Division)

Position Summary
Utilize data-driven methods of PDCA and Six Sigma (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) to problem-solve, Poka-Yoke and innovate. Specifically:
- Process Capability (CPK): 1.33 in the first six months of employment, using Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) to drive improvement
- New Product Development (NPD): Work cross-functionally for new product development
- Ten times the innovation: Improve assigned process by implementing one poka-yoke (mistake proofing) within the first month. Continue to implement poka-yokes as opportunities arise
Drive projects and produce world-class results in line with the Process Engineering strategy. Work with and be a resource to production areas and manage reactive needs of production to allow temporary countermeasures and long-term changes. Will be assigned a production process and will work with the process owner team to improve the process and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Responsible to produce on-target quality work per the Quality Policy of US Synthetic (see attached).
Responsibilities
- Utilize problem solving methods such as PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), Vertical Value Streams (VVS) and Value Stream Maps (VSM) to drive continuous improvement and produce results
- Run cross-functional and new product development teams to a specific objective using continuous improvement tools to organize and drive the objective of the team
- Work with the operators and leaders on the production floor to develop and implement poka-yokes to improve assigned process (one within first month)
- Effectively utilize and manage a student engineer to address reactive needs of the floor and to allow temporary countermeasures and long-term changes
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles in all processes and product changes
- Own and manage a process strategy
- Create, maintain and perform audits on standardized work documents i.e. Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) and Critical Knowledge
- Yokoten: share lessons learned with production floor

Press Operator

Position Summary
Responsible for production of quality polycrystalline diamond pieces through utilization of assembly, press, lapping and grinding machinery and processes while following standard work methods to meet customer expectations. Ensure safety at all times.
Responsibilities
- Learn, adhere to and apply Lean Manufacturing and ISO principles and procedures to maintain a high quality standard
- Understand and operate assembly, press and lapping equipment i.e. small and large hydraulic and pneumatic machines
- Submit and implement continuous improvement ideas per company standard
- Cross-train on multiple pieces of equipment and processes to maximize capabilities and productivity
- Rotate as needed among all necessary processes
- Assist other team members to produce what is need, when it is needed
- Read and follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks according to proper product specifications
- Use basic hand-held measuring devices to inspect and measure parts for accuracy and conformance to product specifications
- Perform repetitive motions in assembling, loading and running machinery, etc.
- Stay on task to complete assignments
